Avengers Masterworks is a trade paperback from Marvel Comics, published back in 1993 celebrating the Avengers' 30 year anniversary, reprinting Avengers # 1-5, which were originally published back in 1963-1964 at the start of what is now known as the Marvel Age of comics. This book introduces the formation of Marvel's superhero team, the Avengers, and some of the stories that followed, like meeting the Space Phantom, a battle against Namor the Sub-Mariner, the revival of the legendary patriotic hero of World War II, Captain America (where he also joins the team as a menmber), and the invasion of the Lava Men.
